Missing Yemen national traced to Pune hospital

A Yemen nationals, who reportedly went after registering himself at a Pune hotel, has finally been traced by the city police to a hospital where he was undergoing treatment.

Wajih Yousef Saleh (29), had checked into a hotel in the city’s crowded Nana Peth area on December 16 last year and had vanished without a trace the same day, vexing investigators ever since.

“Mr. Saleh is said to suffering from mental problems and was undergoing treatment for the same at a city hospital. His father, too, is in the city. He will be leaving the country in a few days,” confirmed Sanjay Patil, Police Deputy Commissioner, Foreigners’ Registration Office (FRO).

Mr. Saleh had entered the country on a tourist visa with a four-month validity period (December 3, 2014 to March 2, 2015). He had checked into Hotel Choice last month after paying his advance, but had not turned up since then, flummoxing the police who launched a manhunt to trace him.
