Masarat Alam release: BJP must clarify stand, says Nitish

March 09, 2015 02:23 am | Updated November 29, 2021 01:12 pm IST - Patna:

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar asked the BJP here on Sunday to make its stand clear on the issue of the release of separatist leader Masarat Alam from prison in Jammu and Kashmir.

“The BJP is part of the coalition government in Jammu and Kashmir and for whatever is happening there, they are responsible and they should make their stand clear,” he told presspersons on the sidelines of a government function.

Earlier, the BJP was “all excited about forging an alliance” to form the government. “So now they cannot shrug off responsibility,” he said.

Mr. Kumar commented that the BJP should come forward and give an explanation to the nation on the release of Mr. Alam.
