Re-arrest Alam, says Togadia

March 09, 2015 02:27 am | Updated November 29, 2021 01:12 pm IST - SRINAGAR:

Vishwa Hindu Parishad president Praveen Togadia on Sunday criticised Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed for acknowledging the “role of Pakistan and separatists in allowing a conducive atmosphere for the Assembly polls” and releasing separatist leader Masarat Alam.

Mr. Togadia sought Mr. Alam’s re-arrest as he was “responsible for the death” of over 100 youths in the Valley.

Speaking at the VHP’s centenary celebrations in Jammu, Mr. Togadia also called for abrogation of Article 370. “Article 370 has to go. It will go, it is the wish and aspiration of every Indian. If Hyderabad and Junagarh — which were merged into the Indian Union under similar terms of accession — do not enjoy any special status, why is it available to Jammu and Kashmir?”
