Following eruption of protests in several districts of north Karnataka over the Mahadayi Water Dispute Tribunal's interim order against releasing water to Karnataka, the Goa State-owned Kadamba Transport Corporation Limited (KTCL) has decided not to ply its buses to Karnataka for next two days from Thursday.

Goa Minister for Transport, Ramkrishna Dhavlikar, said on Thursday morning that the decision has been taken in view of the safety of the passengers and staff of the buses.

From Wednesday evening, after the verdict came in, social media was abuzz with posts requesting Goans to refrain from travelling to Hubbali and Belagavi over the next couple of days fearing violent protests in those places.
