The hearing of the 2007 Ajmer dargah blast case in the sessions court in the Rajasthan town was on Tuesday adjourned to November 8 as presiding judge Prashant Agrawal is going on leave. The case was committed to the sessions on October 26 after the filing of the charge sheet.
The District and Sessions Judge was to hear the arguments on charges to begin the trial of Devendra Gupta, Lokesha Sharma and Chandrashekhar Lave, against whom cognisance has been taken of under the Indian Penal Code, the Explosives Act and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
The charge sheet filed by the Anti-Terrorism Squad in a lower court last month claimed that several persons, including senior Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh leader Indresh Kumar, attended a secret meeting held in Jaipur on October 31, 2005 to hatch a conspiracy for carrying out the blast, in which three persons were killed.
On Tuesday only Chandrashekhar was brought to the court, as Devendra and Lokesh had been taken to Hyderabad for interrogation in the Mecca Masjid blast case. The police are looking for two others, Sandeep Dange and Ramji Kalsangre. The prosecution has so far cited 133 witnesses.
Despite making a reference to Mr. Kumar in the charge sheet, the ATS has not named the RSS the mastermind behind the blast.
