By allowing FDI in key sectors such as Defence, the Modi government has put the security of the nation in peril, says the former CM of Chhattisgarh
Senior Congress leader and former Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Ajit Jogi on Tuesday launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led NDA government and said that the Modi government did more damage to the people in its first one month than any other government in the past.
Speaking to reporters at his residence, Mr.Jogi said, “There is a six month long ‘honeymoon’ period which should be given to every new government initially. But we have been forced to criticize Modi government for the damage it has done to the people of this county in its first month”.
“Rail fare has been increased damaging the common man. Prices of almost all the commodities are being increased. By allowing FDI in key sectors such as Defence, the Modi government has put the security of the nation in peril. Mr.Modi is doing exactly opposite to what he had promised to the people of the country during elections,” claimed Mr.Jogi.
Targeting the BJP government in Chhattisgarh, Mr.Jogi said the State is witnessing “misrule” under CM Raman Singh where 70 lakh ration cards were issued for 56 lakh families. However, the former CM advised Raman Singh to follow “Gujarat model” in utilising private sector and said the State government should focus only on basic issues.
When asked about Congress party's poor performance in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections, Mr.Jogi said that his party was carrying out some big changes in the organization structures in many states after the “shameful” defeat.
