Heroin seized; four held

The Excise and Narcotics Department officials in Mizoram have seized 83 grams of heroin and arrested four people, an official spokesperson said on Tuesday.

The spokesperson Peter Zohmingthanga said that the officials seized eight grams of heroin in the Mizoram-Myanmar border Zokhawthar hamlet in Champhai district on Monday and arrested Laldawngkima (32) and Laltlanmawia (31), both of Bungzung village in Champhai district, in this connection.

Lalnuntluangi (29) of Zokhawthar village was arrested by the department officials at Seling village in Aizawl district for alleged possession of 63 grams of heroin while Lalthankhuma (44) of Tahan in Myanmar was nabbed in Aizawl last night for alleged possession of 12 grams of heroin.- PTI
