The NDMA has put in place an “effective” disaster management plan for this year’s Amarnath yatra and mock drills at two base camps will be held later this month, an official spokesman said.

They discussed the modalities for putting in place the plan for the ensuing yatra, the spokesman said.

“Two NDMA teams from Delhi shall overview the conduct of these mock drills with the objective of evolving an optimum level of preparedness and response during a worst case scenario, evacuation arrangements, medical preparedness and arrangements in regard to hygiene and sanitation at the various base and en—route Camps,” the spokesman said.
