Arms supplier to Maoists arrested in Bihar

An alleged arms supplier to proscribed naxal outfit CPI(Maoist) was arrested on Thursday from a village in Muzaffarpur district, police said.

On a specific tip-off that an arms smuggler supplying firearms to the naxalites was hiding at Madhaul village, a special task force (STF) team raided the village and arrested Shrawan Das, Inspector general of police (operations) S K Diwedi told reporters in Patna.

The STF seized one regular double barrel gun, one rifle, nine live cartridges and one kilogram of explosive materials from his possession, Mr. Diwedi said.
