Responding to allegations that he was a stumbling block to the Union Territory getting Central funds allotted to it, Union Minister of State for the Prime Minister’s Office V. Narayanasamy challenged his political rivals to a public debate on the issue.
The Union Minister said that Chief Minister N. Rangasamy was raising baseless allegations to hide his inefficiency.
Mr. Narayanasamy said that he was willing to provide all details on allotment of Central funds and the ruling party’s failure to make the most of the funds, he told reporters here on Sunday.
Earlier, when Mr. Rangasamy was campaigning with NR Congress candidate R. Radhakrishnan, he had said Mr. Narayanasamy had stopped welfare and development schemes in the Union Territory and that he would provide details of the schemes halted by his political rival.
AINRC campaignMr. Radhakrishnan started his campaign and visited the town area seeking support to ensure that welfare schemes are brought to the Union Territory.
He said that the halted welfare schemes would be brought to the Union Territory with the help of the people.
Later, several women self-help groups and youth associations from the Oulgaret constituency pledged their support for the NR Congress candidate.
