Sripathi Ragamayuri of Abu Dhabi who gave a pleasing concert for Swarajhari sabha of Vijayawada, had received her preliminary training from her mother Suryalakshmi and later from Tulasi Viswanadh, N.Ch. Krishnamacharyulu and Modumudi Sudhakar. Ragamayuri has received many awards for music, both in India and abroad.

Ragamayuri began her concert with Kedaragowla Jhampe tala varnam and followed with Sidhi vinayakam in Shanmukhapriya, GNB’s composition Paranmukhamela in Kanada and Nenarunchinanu in Simhavahini.

The major items in her concert were Nidhi chala sukhama in Kalyani and an interesting ragam tanam pallavi in Bhairavi. These two items brought out Ragamayuri’s admirable ability in the manodharmam aspects.

Kalayani was delineated with good raga bhava and the kalpana swaras were also attractive. The ragam tanam pallavi was executed neatly with confidence.

Towards the close of the concert she sang a Devaranama in Brindavani, Siva Siva Siva a Kesava Dasu composition in Sivaranjani, a Ramadas kirtana in Ananda Bhairavi and lastly, a tillana in Niroshta. Senior artistes B.V. Durgabhavani, I. Pinakapani and M. Haribabu gave fine support on violin, mridangam and ghatam respectively.
