At the southern edge of India’s Coramandel Coast lies the Palk Bay, a 100-km long, 40-km wide warm and shallow sea that sustains a unique and diverse ecosystem. Once famous for its bountiful natural pearls, the ecosystem of the region has now changed drastically due to mechanised fishing. Weaving the human narrative in with that of the indigenous marine life, the film features some breath-taking underwater photography and an engaging background score. It makes the point that the protection of nature and the traditional fishing culture are inseparable.
