And that's all we have for today. Hope you enjoyed our coverage and be sure to tune in tomorrow at 17:30 IST to catch all the action from the men's quarterfinals. Goodbye!

23:07 She might not have been at her best in the second set but Kvitova closes the game and the match with an emphatic ace. Kvitova advances to the semifinals.

23:03 Marvellous rally which ends with a break of serve in Kvitova's favour. Kvitova made Pironkova run all over the place before a beautiful sliced, spinning volley just about goes past the racquet of Pironkova. 5-2.

23:00 Pironkova needs a break and she needs it immediately. But Kvitova is in no mood for charity as she breezes past to takea 4-2 lead.

22:55 Pironkova holds her serve rather comfortably to keep herself in the game. 3-2.

22:53 From 40-15, Pironkova had a break point opportunity to restore parity at 2-2. But Kvitova closed out the game eventually. 3-1.

22:45 Kvitova had a couple of decent opportunities for a double break but she hit one wild backhand to give Pironkova the third game. 2-1.

22:39 Just like in the previous set, Kvitova, after breaking, holds her serve to love for a 2-0 lead.

22:37 A change again in momentum? Kvitova breaks Pironkova in the first game of the third set.

22:32: Incredible turnaround! Pironkova wins the tiebreak and we have a third set.

22:21: Pironkova holds serve to force a tie-break.

22:17 An overcooked backhand from Pironkova hands two game points for Kvitova, who takes it for a 6-5 lead in the second set. Will it be tie-breakers or can Kvitova break Pironkova?

22:15 Pironkova might be losing steam but a forehand passing shot down the line proves that Kvitova will have to work hard for her victory. A relatively easy hold. 5-5.

22:10 Pironkova, who seems to be losing steam, cannot enforce another break. Kvitova, serving at 40-30, hangs on to move one step closer for a place in the semifinals.

22:07 More like that from Kvitova who breaks back to make it 4-4.

22:02 Visibly upset over losing her way, Kvitova holds her serve to love by playing a peach of a service game. Crucial serve for Pironkova coming up. 4-3.

22:01 Pironkova consolidates the break by holding her serve to go up 4-2 in the second set/. Some uncharacteristic errors creeping into Kvitova's game.

21:56 Two forehand errors off the racquet of Kvitova has given Pironkova a lucky break in the second set. She leads 3-2.

21:52 A lose forehand from Kvitova at 40-30 gives Pironkova her second game in the second set.

21:49 Pironkova had an opening at 30-30 but a couple of solid serves means Kvitova does not lose her grip on the match. 2-1.

21:44 Kvitova had a break point opportunity but Pironkova responds by getting in a couple of good first serves to hold serve. 1-1.

The Czech Kvitova up in action against Pironkova looks like it's going to be headed for a quick finish. Kvitova took the first set 6-3 and is leading in the second 1-0.

21:40 - Swaroop Swamianthan will takeover for a while.

21:32: That match lasted for just an hour. Cibulkova had no answer to Sharapova's power and precision. The fith seeded Russian will now face Lisicki in the semifinals. I must say this match was a disappointed as I expected Cibulkova to put up a much tougher fight. After all, she did beat the world no.1 Wozniacki in the previous round.

21:31: Sharapova is through! 6-1, 6-1 victory over Cibulkova. Cibulkova well and truly outclassed.

21:27: Sharapova serving for the match at 5-1.

21:25: The Sharapova forehand proving too much for Cibulkova. Hitting winners at will here.

21:22: A bit too easy for Sharapova. She holds serve to take a 4-1 lead. Drooping shoulders, head bowed, Cibulkova doesn't look too enthused about her chances here.

21:20: So any hope we had of a fightback is snuffed out by Sharapova. Cibulkova is broken again and Sharapova leads 3-1.

21:19: Cibulkova's serve is just not falling in. Sharapova is all over her serves.

21:17: So we have a match on after a one-sided contest so far. Let us hope Cibulkova can build on the break of serve and take Sharapova to a third set.

21:15: Here we go! Cibulkova with a break. We're back on serve now. Sharapova leads 2-1 with Cibulkova to serve.

21:12: And Sharapova breaks after converting her fifth break point. Cibulkova in real trouble. Down 0-2 in the second set.

21:11: This game now enters its ninth minute.

21:10: Cibulkova simply must hold her serve here to get some momentum going.

21:08: Real fight on for the second game of the second set. Sharapova unable to convert three break points.

21:07: Sharapova making Cibulkova run all over the court. Sharapova has 12 winners already, against Cibulkova's 2.

21:06: Has the occasion got to Cibulkova? Will she fight in this second set?

21:03: Cibulkova serving, 0-1 down in the second set.

21:02: Cibulkova not finding her groove at all. The confidence she showed against Wozniacki in the fourth round is missing here. Way too many unforced errors.

20:58: An error prone Cibulkova is blown away in the first set. She loses it 1-6. Don't count her out yet. She lost the first set against Wozniacki too, but came back to win the match.

20:55: A real baseline slugfest here. Neither player keen on coming to the net for the volleys. Serve and volley not really the gameplan in the modern game.

20:53: Sharapova hold serve to take a 5-1 lead in the first set. Cibulkova will do well to hold serve now. Which will then mean she gets to serve first in the second set if Sharapova holds.

20:52: Cibulkova had two break points on the Sharapova serve, but Sharapova saves both. Duece now.

20:50: Cibulkova is broken again. Sharapova running away with the first set. Up 4-1.

20:45: Cibulkova really lets rip on her forehand. Lovely flow.

20:43: Sharapova holds serve on love to go 3-1 up.

20:40: First break of the match. Cibulkova is down 1-2.

20:39: Cibulkova's second serve is quite weak and Sharapova stands before the baseline to take advantage.

20:38: Must remind you that this match is being played in Centre Court under the roof. Bit of rain around.

20:37: Sharapova easily holds serve. 1-1 now.

20:36: My colleague Swaroop an I were just discussing if the women's game has lost some its grace. The days of Steffi Graf and Sabatini are well and truly over, with their placement and guile. It is all power now.

20:35: Cibulkova, it must be remembered, shocked top seed Caroline Wozniacki in the fourth round. She was really striking the ball hard in that match, let us see if she can carry that form into this match.

20:34: Cibulkova wins the first game of the match. Cibulkova, at 5'3, is the shortest player left in the Wimbledon draw.

20:33: The trademark Sharapova grunt in full effect. Cibulkova quiet as a mouse in comparison.

20:30: Cibulkova to serve.

After a fantastic hard fought match, Lisicki prevailed against Marion Bartoli in three sets in the first quarterfinal. It is time for the second quarterfinal, Sharapova v Cibulkova. Let the grunting wars begin!
