Yuki Bhambri defeated fellow Davis Cupper Ramkumar Ramanathan 6-3, 6-4 — his fourth successive victory in five meetings — to clinch the title in the $150,000 Challenger tennis tournament on Sunday.

Yuki converted three of six breakpoints while Ramkumar converted one of two. It was the seventh Challenger title for the 25-year-old Yuki who collected 125 ATP points and $21,600. Ramkumar won 75 points and $12,720.

Yuki is all set to break into the top-100 once again when the next rankings list is released. His previous best rank was 88 in November 2015, but a string of injuries had seen him slip in the rankings.

In the doubles final, however, Prajnesh Gunneswaran and Saketh Myneni were beaten 10-6 in the super tie-break by Matthew Ebden and Andrew Whittington of Australia.

The results:

$150,000 Challenger men, Taipei City: Final: Yuki Bhambri bt Ramkumar Ramanathan 6-3, 6-4.

Doubles (final): Matthew Ebden & Andrew Whittington (Aus) bt Prajnesh Gunneswaran & Saketh Myneni 6-4, 5-7, [10-6].

$15,000 ITF women, Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt: Doubles (final): Eleni Kordolaimi (Gre) & Tara Moore (GBr) bt Rutuja Bhosale & Kanika Vaidya 6-4, 6-1.
