Vikrant Gupta shot a seven-under 65 to take a one-stroke lead over Chiragh Kumar after the opening round of the Rs. 1-crore BILT Open golf championship here on Wednesday.
Vikrant shot an ‘eagle' and six birdies against a lone bogey on the Jaypee Greens golf course that witnessed 27 sub-par scores.
Chiragh, too, had a bogey in a card dotted with seven birdies.
Defending champion Anirban Lahiri struggled to a 71 while Jyoti Randhawa, Ashok Kumar, Digvijay Singh and Manav Jaini returned par rounds.
