Puneri Paltan picked up raider Manjeet for the highest purse of ₹63 lakh among Category B players as the ProKabaddi League Season-7 auction drew to a close here on Tuesday.

Haryana Steelers paid ₹38.5 lakh for Dharmaraj Cheralathan, the topper among defenders in the same category.

Over two days, ₹50 crore was spent on 200 players by 12 franchises.

After the star names, Indian and foreign, went under the hammer a day earlier, others got their share of the spotlight, like 22-year-old Manjeet who moves from Patna Pirates to Paltan, where Nitin Tomar (₹1.2 crore) is the senior raider.

The franchise had released all players and used the ₹4.4 crore purse.

Paltan hopes the mix of youth and experience in the offensive zone will turn into a formidable combination. “We chased Manjeet because he is young and did well last season for Patna Pirates.

“He was able to make an impact,” explained Paltan mentor Ashok Shinde.
