M.C. Mary Kom and Mandakini Chanu advanced to the quarterfinals in the Asian women's boxing championship at Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, on Tuesday.
Mary Kom edged past Laopeam Peamwilai 6-4 in a 51kg bout. In the quarterfinals, Mary Kom will meet home challenger Nandinsetseg Myagmardul. Mandakini (57kg) outsmarted Rahemi Sadaf of Afghanistan when the referee stopped the contest in the fourth round. She will take on Kil Ok Kim of North Korea in last eight.
