Jwala Gutta-Ashwini Ponnappa lose in World badminton championships

Top Indian doubles shuttlers Jwala Gutta and Aswini Ponnappa were knocked out of the women’s doubles quarterfinals at the World Championships here on Friday.

The 13th seeds lost 23-25, 14-21 in 46 minutes to unseeded Japanese pair of Naoko Fukuman and Kurumi Yonao at the 9,000-seater Istotara Senayan.
