Hamilton, Daly for Avantha Masters

Todd Hamilton, the winner of the 2004 British Open and John Daly, a two-time Major winner during the 1990s, will be part of an impressive field when the 1.8 million euro Avantha Masters golf tees off at the DLF Golf and Country Club at Gurgaon on February 16.

The field comprising 57 European Tour players, 47 from the Asian Tour, 22 from the domestic PGTI Tour and six sponsor’s invitees, includes Jeev Milkha Singh and Thailand’s Thongchai Jaidee, both former winners of the Asian Tour Order of Merit.

Daly, 45, winner of the British Open in 1991, the British Open in 1995 and the BMW International Open in 2001, will be playing for the first time in India. Hamilton will return to the same course where he was part of the BILT Skins event a few years ago.

The country’s richest sporting event is the only event sanctioned by the European Tour in India.
