Indian men and women teams entered the finals for the first time in the Games history on Friday at the Yeorumul courts here. India plays Malaysia in both the finals on Saturday.
Saurav Ghosal gained his revenge over Kuwait’s Abdullah Al Muzayen, the singles champion, in the team semifinals on Friday. That assures the country of at least two silver medals.After the women’s 2-0 win over host South Korea, the men blanked Kuwait 2-0 in the semifinals here.
“Historic moment for Indian squash,” said coach Maj S. Maniam.
It was Joshna who started the good work, defeating Park Eunok in just 34 minutes. Dipika overcame a mid-match lull, where she dropped a game, before raising her performance to finish off Song Sunmi.
