Sher-E-Punjab posts win

Sher-E-Punjab beat Mumbai Marines 2-1 in their World Series Hockey match here on Wednesday.

The host took the lead in the 10th minute when Bikramjeet Singh found the target off a penalty corner.

Marines had to wait till the 42nd minute for the equaliser which came through a field goal from G.M. Hariprasad. The Punjab side ensured full points when Deepak Thakur sounded the boards in the 57th minute.

Sher-E-Punjab is on top of the table with 22 points from 10 matches while Marines has 10 points from 10 games. There will be no match on Thursday.
