Vasco tops table with win

Vasco Sports Club outplayed Sporting Clube de Goa 3-0 to register its second consecutive victory in the second division I-League at Shillong on Friday. In the other game, United Sikkim FC and Royal Wahingdoh drew 0-0.

The victory lifted Vasco SC to the top of the table where it joined Shillong Lajong FC with six points.

Vasco scored the goals through Joel Siqueira (30th minute), Brazileo Rego (41st) and Koki Sakibu (79th) at the J.N. Stadium.

Sporting Clube, which drew with United Sikkim in the first match, lost for the first time in this league tournament.

At the Polo ground, United Sikkim and local side Wahingdoh played out a draw.

The Baichung Bhutia part-owned side earned its second draw while Wahingdoh, which had lost the opening game against Lajong, also earned its first point.
