France’s presidential palace says Thierry Henry will meet with President Nicolas Sarkozy to discuss the national team’s World Cup debacle.

Spokesman Franck Louvrier says that France’s all-time leading scorer and former captain asked Mr. Sarkozy for the meeting, which will take place on Thursday.

France was eliminated from the first round of the World Cup on Tuesday after the team lost to South Africa on Tuesday.

Government spokesman Luc Chatel says Mr. Sarkozy is also holding a work meeting with ministers on Wednesday on how to reform French football.
