World Cup

Pressure got to India: Gavaskar

Former skipper Sunil Gavaskar felt that the pressure of playing in the semifinal got to the Indian team.

“Team India succumbed under the pressure of a big game. It lost in all departments, especially in batting,” said Gavaskar.

Full marks to the Aussies

“Full marks to the Australian team which kept India silent throughout the match and never let it have an upper hand,” he added.

Sourav Ganguly lashed out at those who attacked Anushka Sharma for Virat Kohli’s failure with the bat, saying that it showed their immaturity.

“What wrong has Anushka done? She had only gone to see a cricket match like the families of other players.

“It is unfair to blame her for Kohli’s performance. It is the immaturity of the people (criticising Anushka),” he said.

Losing toss a blow

Ajit Wadekar felt India was let down by its pacers, and that losing the toss was a big blow.
