Sri Lanka 133 for two

Sri Lanka, after winning the toss, was 133 for two against England at stumps on the first day of the first Test at Sophia Gardens here on Thursday.

Tharanga Paranavitana was 58 not out and Mahela Jayawardene unbeaten on four after rain meant only 48 overs out of a scheduled 90 were possible in the day's play.

Dilshan hits 50

Skipper Tillakaratne Dilshan was dismissed for 50 by Graeme Swann, while former captain Kumar Sangakkara could manage only 11 before he was taken by Matt Prior off James Anderson.

Rain had washed out the morning session.
