South Africa left-hander Jean-Paul Duminy struck a superb century on Thursday as the tourists declared at 455—9 on the second day of the first test against Sri Lanka.

In reply, Sri Lanka were 30 without loss in their first innings at stumps. Upul Tharanga was batting on 20 and Kaushal Silva was on eight.
Duminy and Morkel frustrated the home side with a partnership of 66 runs, a record for the ninth wicket for South Africa against Sri Lanka.
