BSNL to play I-T in final

BSNL will take on Income Tax in the final of the invitational institutional cricket tournament here on Friday.

In the semifinals, BSNL defeated Customs & Central Excise by two wickets while Income Tax edged out Comptroller and Auditor General of

India, New Delhi, by nine runs.

The scores: Customs & Central Excise 285 for seven in 40 overs (Debraj Patil 55, Ankit Rawat 56, M.S. Negi three for 62, Anirban Chatterjee two for 22) lost to BSNL 288 for eight in 39.2 overs (Niranjan Behera 116, Varun Kumar 62, Navin two for 50, Ankit Rawat two for 51).

Income Tax 226 for seven wickets in 40 overs (Rickin Chowhan 113 not out, Dibyendu Chakraborty 45, Bharat Lumba two for 40, Imtiaz Ahmed two for 46) bt CAG 217 in 39.1 overs (Bhusan Chohan 61, Prinan Dutta 56, Dibyendu Chakraborty three for 48, Niresh Saxena two 32).
