The tone of resignation in Virender Sehwag's voice was hard to miss.
The Delhi Daredevils skipper can handle the disappointment of losing a game due to a below par performance.
But, what has left Sehwag exasperated is the fact that his repeated pleas for a ‘grassy' pitch at his home ground of Ferozeshah Kotla are not being heeded to. For the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore, the Daredevils think-tank had asked for a pitch with some bounce. Sehwag held the pitch and the team's poor bowling responsible for the three-wicket defeat.
“Contrary to our instructions, they cut a lot of grass. I understand that we have to carry on with whatever wicket we get,” said Sehwag, sounding as though he had given up on getting the desired pitch.
He did not spare his bowlers for their poor efforts. — Special Correspondent
