India scored 213 for eight in 63 overs against Bangladesh in the first Test that commenced at the Zohur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium here on Sunday.
Sachin Tendulkar’s unbeaten 76 (140b, 6x4, 9x4) offered hope after the Indians lost their way in a dramatic post-lunch collapse losing six wickets while scoring a meagre 97 runs. For Bangladesh, skipper and left-arm spinner Shakib Al Hasan and seamer Shahadat Hossain bagged four wickets each. On an uneventful day for Indian batsmen, Tendulkar offered some cheer as he became the first cricketer to score 13000 Test runs.
