Representatives of Deloitte, one of the world’s leading professional audit services company and the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s auditor, will meet the Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA) in New Delhi on Friday.
The BCCI engaged Deloitte in late 2015 to suggest administrative structures and also study and report about the working of its full member associations and also examine their accounts, as part of its transformation project. In fact the BCCI had engaged PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC) and Grant Thornton for the same purpose.
The Deloitte reports highlighted mismanagement of affairs at the Hyderabad Cricket Association, Goa Cricket Association, Assam Cricket Association, Jammu & Kashmir Cricket Association and few more. The BCCI has stopped all official annual subventions to a handful of associations. It’s understood that the Justice Lodha Committee and CoA are in possession of the Deloitte reports.
Apart from the fiscal matters, the CoA will also discuss the way forward to enforce the Justice Lodha Committee recommendations. Apart from Deloitte, others who have been asked to be present in New Delhi are the BCCI’s internal audit firm, Gokhale & Sathe, the BCCI’s CFO Santosh Rangnekar, CEO Rahul Johri.
