Aaron Finch hit a tournament-high 93 not out in leading Victoria to a seven-wicket win over Central Stags in the Champions League Twenty20 on Wednesday.

Right-handed opener Finch hit 11 fours and three sixes in his 60-ball effort, including a blast over the long-on boundary with two balls left to seal victory.

Victoria finished on 166-3 as it successfully chased down the Stags’ 165-5. Andrew McDonald made 18 not out.

Stags captain Jamie How began a good day for opening batsmen when his unbeaten 77 lifted the New Zealand team from 3-2 and 30-3.

Australia fast bowler Peter Siddle took 2-30 for Victoria in his first match of the tournament.
