Los Angeles Google on Friday marked the 44th anniversary of hip-hop with an in-depth interactive doodle.

The doodle also doubles as an interactive music game, complete with the ability to mix and scratch a number of records as they play on two decks.

Hip-hop was born forty-four years ago at a party in the Bronx when DJ Kool Herc used two turntables to isolate and extend the breakbeat of a song, inspiring people to cut loose on the dance floor.

The doodle features an introduction and tutorial both narrated by former host of Yo! MTV Raps, Fab 5 Freddy, and achievements highlighting hip-hop’s early pioneers.
