The Seventh Pay Commission is welcome. But there are many public enterprises which are yet to get the benefits of the Sixth Pay Commission. Even the terminal benefit of enhanced gratuity payment with effect from January 2007 has been denied to a few CPSU companies.
As the CPSU staff are not covered under any pension benefits like the Central government staff, the government should do justice to them.

The announcement of the Seventh Pay Commission is good news for Central government employees. But who will appoint a pay commission for private employees working in companies other than top MNCs, and workers of the unorganised sector? A pay commission for a particular section is an inequality measure. It will lead to inflation which is already a huge burden on all sections. Such political games are injurious to the nation’s health.
