With wildlife reserves becoming smaller, which puts animals in closer proximity with infrastructure, the authorities must think in terms of working in tandem with the forest personnel and ensuring that conventional methods are adhered to (“Train hits killed 49 elephants in 3 years”, January 14). This includes an observance of slow speed and exercising caution at all times.
At the same time, I firmly believe that we are advanced enough to be able to modernise as well as design structures that allow for the safer movement and migration of wildlife.
