This refers to “This Day That Age” (“Drive against corruption,” Sept. 5) where it was astonishing to read that on September 4, 1961, then Union Home Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri had powerful ideas on ending corruption in the public services. If only something had happened then … Unfortunately, India has lost such leaders who were the icons of integrity.

Why can't this news report be sent to the “leaders” of today to make them realise the progress made between 1961 and 2011 and to make them understand who made the call for ending corruption?
