The meeting between Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his Chinese counterpart on the sidelines of the ASEAN summit should end the unsavoury verbal duel between the two neighbours. Both the Asian giants should focus on building friendly ties. Disputes, if any, can be resolved through dialogue. The prestige of the two nations would diminish in the international community if they continue to quarrel. Our politicians should not make provocative statements against China. Self-restraint is important, more so in diplomacy.
