Trump says India, Pakistan can handle Kashmir issue on their own

U.S. President Donald Trump said on August 26 that India and Pakistan could handle the Kashmir issue on their own, but he was there should they need him.Mr. Trump in the recent past had offered mediation between India and Pakistan on Kashmir. He discussed the issue on the sidelines of a G7 summit in France with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Manmohan Singh continues to have Z+ security: MHA

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Monday said former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh continued to have Z plus security, a day after The Hindu reported that the Special Protection Group (SPG) would be withdrawn from his security detail shortly . An MHA spokesperson said, “The current security cover review is a periodical and professional exercise based on threat perception that is purely based on professional assessment by security agencies. Dr. Manmohan Singh continues to have a Z+ security cover.”

I NX Media case: Chidambaram’s CBI remand extended till Aug 30.

A CBI court on August 26 extended the CBI remand of former Finance Minister and Congress leader P. Chidambaram in the INX media case till August 30. Special CBI Judge Ajay Kumar Kuhar, whose court at the Rouse Avenue court complex in New Delhi deals with criminal cases pertaining to MPs and MLAs, announced his order after reserving it briefly.

The number of wireless data subscribers doubled between between 2014 and 2018, largely due to the cheaper prices of data. On average, wireless subscribers in 2018 used 7.6 GB of data per month, which was 29 times higher than the usage in 2014, according to data in a recently released Telecom Regulatory Authority of India report . The number of 3G users peaked in 2016. In 2018, 4G was the most widely used, while 2G and 3G users accounted for 12% each of the total wireless subscriber base.

INX Media: SC extends protection from arrest to Chidambaram till Aug 27 in money laundering case

The Supreme Court on August 26 extended till August 27 the protection from arrest given to former Finance Minister P. Chidambaram in the INX Media money laundering case lodged by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). A Bench of justices R. Banumathi and A.S. Bopanna said it will continue the hearing on August 27 the petition of Mr. Chidambaram challenging the Delhi High Court order which had rejected his anticipatory bail plea in the case.

DGCA asks passengers not to carry certain MacBook Pro models in flights

Aviation regulator DGCA on Monday said passengers should not carry models of 15-inch MacBook Pro laptops that Apple deemed a safety risk due to overheating batteries. Apple had on June 20 issued a notice on its website regarding the risk posed by the models of the MacBook Pro laptops.
