Vijay Thakur made MEA Secretary

The Modi administration on Tuesday appointed senior diplomat and now India’s Ambassador to Ireland, Vijay Thakur Singh, as Secretary (East) in the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA). Ms. Singh will take over as Secretary from October 1 after superannuation of Preeti Saran on September 30. The appointments committee of the cabinet (ACC) headed by PM Narendra Modi cleared the name and subsequently the department of personnel and training (DoPT) issued notification.
