Angered by the absence of two clerks, G. Ramulu and B. Sailu, from the Department of Employment and Training from a crucial meeting, Collector D. Ronald Ross placed them under suspension on Wednesday evening. Mr. Ross convened a meeting to discuss the programme of giving training to educated youths in different trades to empower them to open self-employment units or get employment. He wanted the district employment officer to prepare a plan to provide training to about 10,000 youth this year. With no one from the department turning up by evening the Collector waited for few more minutes and called up the employment officer. Learning that he was on leave and in-charge employment officer was non-responsive and two clerks were absent he got furious and issued orders for the suspension of clerks.
