Traning for cops begins

The nine-month training for the 242 Armed Reserve stipendiary cadet constables, who arrived from Hyderabad, began at the Police Training College at Jankampet in Yedapally mandal of the district on Monday.

In his inaugural address chief guest and Deputy IG of Police, Nizamabad range, N. Shivashankar Reddy said that the training was upgraded. During the training the trainees would be given laptops and e-notebooks and enabled to give power-point presentations. Focus would be on physical and mental exercises, he said. Use of mobile phones would be strictly prohibited.

Commissioner of Police Kartikeya said that there would be indoor and outdoor classes for trainees. Out of five lakh candidates who appeared for the constable recruitment just 9,000 were selected for training, he added.
