In continuation of the efforts to expand its horizon of coal mining activities, the State-owned Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) has mooted an action plan to bid for three coal blocks being reportedly auctioned by the Central government – two in Odisha and one in Chhattisgarh.

This is one among several other important aspects that prominently figured during discussions at a high-level meeting chaired by the SCCL Chairman and Managing Director N. Sridhar in Kothagudem on Thursday.

The meeting discussed various growth strategies with a thrust on leveraging expertise of the company in coal mining at an optimum level by enlisting the active cooperation of all employees to increase coal production.

The meeting also mooted various new initiatives to reach out to every employee of the company for motivating them to put in extra work.

Meanwhile, talking to reporters after the meeting, Mr. Sridhar spoke about a slew of measures aimed at accelerating the pace of production for meeting the burgeoning demand for coal, particularly in view of the upcoming new thermal plants.
