Work on Telangana Power project has completed all MoU targets, says official

NTPC Ramagundam Executive Director Ravindra said that NTPC Ramagundam was moving ahead to achieve its target during the financial year 2018-19 despite overhauling of three 500 MW units which not only helped in maintaining the quality but also help in CO2 emission reduction.

Participating in the Republic day celebrations at MG stadium in the township on Saturday, he said that the NTPC Ramagundam was having coal reserves of 5.30 lakh metric tonnes at a time when many of the power plants were struggling with coal reserves. During the current financial year, the NTPC Ramagundam entered in Grid open market and so far traded 30 million units of power.

He further added that the vintage power station was taking concerted efforts in enriching the environment with improvement in heat rate through Renovation & Modernization, reduction in water consumption with additional AWRS (ash water re-circulation system) and commissioning of ZLD (zero liquid discharge) and achieving over 100% ash utilisation.

Speaking on Telangana Project, Mr Ravindra said that since the zero date i.e. January 29, 2016 to till date, the project has completed all MoU targets and moving ahead with commendable safety practices. He further stated that as of today, the project completed 70 per cent TG Island Package, 52 per cent in SG Island Package, 44 per cent in BoP Package and the Chimney height achieved 255 meters.

He also said that they were making efforts to convert the residential township of NTPC Ramagundam into Smart township. Accordingly, in the first phase, they were planning to deploy electric bicycles and electric vehicles., installation of RO plants, provision of wifi in the shopping complex etc. The ED along with other dignitaries president appreciation letters to 109 employees for their excellent performance besides felicitating seven children for participating at company level Raising day cultural programmes held in Delhi in November 2018.

The cultural programmes performed by children from various schools of the residential colony were a treat to the eyes.
