There are innumerable employment opportunities for Chartered Accountants as the demand for them is steadily growing. Chartered Accountancy is so popular that even engineering graduates are pursuing the course for better employment opportunities, said Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) president, Manoj Fadnis.
Mr. Fadnis was in Karimnagar town on Sunday for an interactive session with the students of ICAI. Talking to newsmen, he said that the CA course was gaining popularity because of great employment opportunities in the country and abroad.
He said that they were planning to introduce changes in the Common Proficiency Test (CPT), which would be introduced from next academic year onwards, in order to cope with the changing scenario.
Stating that ICAI had a total of 2.43 lakh members and 8.75 lakh students, he said that Chartered Accountancy was the cheapest course and it could be completed with only Rs. 50,000 in four years. He said that all industries and financial institutions in the country and abroad, were looking up to ICAI for producing the best chartered accountants in the world.
ICAI vice-president M. Devaraja Reddy said that they had opened ICAI branches in Karimnagar and Warangal districts in Telangana and Anantapur, Kurnool and Ongole in Andhra Pradesh. He added that they were contemplating opening a branch in Eluru very soon. Member central council J. Venkateshwarlu, Karimnagar chartered accountants N. Varaprasad, D. Niranjana Chary and others were also present.
