Heavy inflows into Telangana’s Kadem dam

As many as 10 gates of the Kadem dam in Nirmal district were lifted to a height of 10 ft. on Sunday to release 1.25 lakh cusecs of water into the Godavari, following heavy inflows.

About 1 lakh cusecs of water is flowing into the reservoir, owing to heavy overnight rainfall in Adilabad district’s catchment area.

Water level is being maintained at 698.397 ft against a full reservoir level of 700 ft.

Ramagundam

Ten flood gates of the Sripada Yellampalli project in Ramagundam mandal were lifted to release 26,720 cusecs into the Godavari.

The project was receiving inflows of 2,24,860 cusecs following heavy rains in catchment area. The authorities are maintaining water storage at 17.55 tmcs against its full level of 20.175 tmcs.

Bhadradri-Kothagudem

With the Taliperu reservoir at Pedamidisileru in Charla mandal of Bhadradri-Kothagudem district continuing to receive heavy inflows from the catchment areas spread along the inter-State border with Chhattisgarh, the project authorities have opened as many as 16 crest gates of the dam letting out 75,440 cusecs of excess water downstream into Godavari.

The water level in the reservoir hovered around 72.10 metres as against its full reservoir level of 74 metres on Sunday afternoon.
