GWMC staff held for accepting bribe

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths arrested two employees of Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation (GWMC) here on Wednesday. Revenue Inspector (RI) A. Bikshapathi and Bill Collector T. Buchi Raju working at GWMC circle-III in Kazipet were caught red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs. 8,000 from a complainant, Komuraiah, a retired government officer.

According to ACB DSP R. Saibaba, the complainant Komuraiah has applied for status conversion of a commercial building into a domestic one four months ago. The RI had demanded Rs. 20,000 for the work and later agreed to accept Rs. 8,000. The arrested would be produced before the ACB court for remand, Mr. Saibaba informed.
