Centre allots AIS officers

The Centre on Friday night issued orders for allocation of All India Service officers of the undivided cadre of Andhra Pradesh, on the basis of the recommendation of the Pratyush Sinha Committee between the successor States of Telangana and AP.

As per the orders, Department of Personnel and Training in the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Telangana gets 163 Indian Administrative Service (IAS), 112 Indian Police Service (IPS) and 65 Indian Forest Service (IFS) officers while the AP State has been allotted 211 IAS, 144 (IPS) and 82 (IFS).

Centre had on August 22 released the provisional list of officers allotted to the two States, which caused concern among the senior officers. In the undivided Andhra Pradesh, the cadre strength of IAS was 374, IPS (256) and IFS (147). The order said representations/grievances, if any, on the tentative allocation should be made to the chairman of the advisory committee latest by October 25.
