Telangana Telugu Desam Party (TTDP) working president A. Revanth Reddy dared the State Government for an open discussion in this village on GO 123 issued by the State Government and the Land Acquisition Act- 2013 passed by the Union Government stating so that people can decide what is better for them.

“Let Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao come along with senior IAS officers and explain the merits of GO 123, and from the land oustees side I will put forward the arguments favouring LA Act -2013,” said Mr. Revanth Reddy after commencing a 48-hour fast at this village in Toguta mandal of Medak district on Saturday in support to the Mallannasagar land oustees.

He also wondered why Mr. Harish Rao was not visiting these villages when agitation has been taking place for the past three months.

There was a huge response from the oustees and more than 3,000 people from all the villages gathered and extended their support.

“We will cordon the farm house of Chief Minister K. Chadrasekhar Rao if the problem of oustees are not addressed in the next 15 days,” he said stating that the TTDP would firmly stand by land oustees till justice is done to them. Explaining about the LA Act, Mr. Reddy said that farmers would get between Rs.16 lakh and Rs.20 lakh per acre, get rehabilitation and resettlement, and to avoid that the government has introduced the GO 123. Referring to the demand by some farmers that Mallannasagar project needs to be constructed to irrigate few lakh acres of land in three districts, he questioned whether they are ready to part with their lands with land oustees for the price being offered by the government. Prashant, a resident of the village, wanted the government to hold an all-party meeting on the feasibility of the reservoir before going for land acquisition.
