ADILABAD: Adilabad Superintendent of Police M. Sreenivas on Thursday said the police officers need to adopt technology in solving crime and maintaining law and order.

The State Government had provided cell phone SIM cards to officers which had provision for internet. This was to help adoption of modern technology by the Government servants, the SP said.

The SP was inspecting office of the Adilabad DSP as part of annual inspection programme.

He checked the files relating to cases under SC, ST Atrocities (Prevention) Act and cases of murder of women as in both the cases it has to be investigated at the DSP level.

In last year’s reorganisation exercise, the police stations of Gudihatnoor, Ichda and Neredigonda were clubbed with Utnoor Division.

This has resulted in easing of pressure upon the office of Adilabad police sub-division, the district police chief observed.
