72 asst profs recruited for govt medical colleges

A total of 72 assistant professors for government medical colleges were recruited by Telangana Health Department through the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC). Based on merit, applicants were interviewed and candidates were selected for vacancies in non-clinical departments: six in Forensic Medicine department, 15 in Anatomy, nine in Pharmacology, 10 in Biochemistry, 14 in Pathology, 11 in Microbiology, 11 in Community Medicine. The recruited candidates were given postings in nine government teaching hospitals across the State.

Officials said that interviews for vacancies in clinical posts too were conducted by TSPSC and final list of selected candidates will be issued in a few days time. “Vacancies in new medical colleges along with left over posts will be filled up through medical board,” Director of Medical Education K. Ramesh Reddy said.
