Written test for lab assistant posts

A total of 29,968 candidates appeared for 211 school lab assistant posts in the two districts on Sunday amid tight vigilance by the State government School Education department.

In Ramanathapuram, 15,258 candidates appeared for the examination in 40 centres in the educational districts of Ramanathapuram and Parakakudi under the overall supervision of Chief Educational Officer K. Jayakannu. In all, 17,835 candidates applied for the 105 posts and 2,577 candidates absented themselves. Those who wrote the examinations included science and engineering graduates, official sources said. In Sivaganga, 18,232 candidates applied for 106 posts and 14,710 appeared, CEO S. Senthivel Murugan said. The test was held at 50 centres in educational districts of Sivaganga and Devakottai, he said adding there were 3522 absentees.

Dindigul

A total of 22,688 persons out of the 28,247 who had applied, appeared the for the exam in Dindigul district.

In Theni, 18,507 candidates appeared.
